Phantomics announced the successful completion of a joint seminar with the research team of Professor Jonghye Woo from the Department of Radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) on September 25.
Under the theme “Advancing AI Together: Celebrating the Generalizability of Innovation,” the seminar brought together globally renowned experts in radiology to discuss the applicability and potential of AI in medical imaging.
The Director of the Gordon Center for Medical Imaging (GCMI) at MGH delivered the welcome address, followed by presentations from:
- Byungwook Choi, CEO of Phantomics and Professor at Yonsei University College of Medicine.
- Jonghye Woo, Professor at the Department of Radiology, Harvard Medical School and MGH.
- Fangxu Xing, a prominent professor and expert in the field.
Established in 1811, MGH is the third-oldest hospital in the United States and a teaching hospital affiliated with Harvard Medical School. Renowned for being one of the world's largest medical research institutions, MGH is at the forefront of advancing healthcare. Professor Woo, appointed to Harvard’s Department of Radiology in 2015, has been collaborating with Phantomics since its inception.
Phantomics recently established a local subsidiary in Boston in June, signaling its commitment to entering the U.S. market. In August, the company was selected for the 2024 Global Expansion Program by the Seoul Economic Promotion Agency and the Seoul Startup Hub Gongdeok, solidifying its position as a Boston-bound innovator.
The seminar marks an important step in building strong partnerships with leading U.S. medical professionals. Phantomics will also participate in a demo day in November, hosted by the Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC), where they will receive tailored consulting.
Through these efforts, Phantomics aims to secure key business partnerships and establish a robust network, laying the groundwork for a successful entry into the U.S. healthcare market.
